Reach One Teach One Foundation empowers students

The Reach One Teach One Foundation recently hosted Level Up: Own the Year, an empowering event designed to equip local high school students with the tools, knowledge, and confidence they need to make the most of the school year and take intentional steps toward their future. The event speakers were co-directors, Lee Reliford and Mandy Monroy.

The event brought 148 area high school students together for an engaging day focused on personal growth, goal-setting, mental health, suicide awareness and making positive choices. Students were encouraged to look beyond where they are today and recognize the potential they have to shape where they are going. Throughout the event, students participated in conversations designed to challenge them to think differently about success. They were encouraged to set meaningful goals, identify their strengths, develop healthy habits, and understand that success is not always about being the best; it is about continuing to grow, learning from setbacks, and refusing to give up.

The success of Level Up: Own the Year would not have been possible without the support of community partners and sponsors who continue to invest in our youth. Platinum Partner: Labette Community College. Gold sponsor: Tank Connection. Silver Sponsors: Golden Plains Credit Union, Labette Health and Sparklight. Bronze Sponsors: CST Industries, Inc. and IdeaTek. Their willingness to support this event demonstrates the power of a community coming together to help young people succeed.

For the Reach One Teach One Foundation, events like Level Up are about more than a single day. They are part of the foundation’s ongoing commitment to creating opportunities for youth; to discover their potential and know that their future matters. Level Up: Own the Year left students with a challenge that extends far beyond the event itself: Own your choices. Own your growth. Own your future. The Reach One Teach One Foundation continues to encourage young people throughout the community to dream bigger, believe in themselves, and understand that they have people in their corner willing to help them along the way. The mission of the Reach One Teach One Foundation is simple - we are committed to enriching the lives of the youth in SEK and walking alongside them to support them and help them reach their goals.

The Reach One Teach One Foundation is a solution-based nonprofit and serves as a community resource center focused on youth; creating programs and initiatives such as youth mentoring, motivational speaking, suicide prevention training, community service, employability skills training and much more. Located at 2700 Main Street, Parsons, KS - 620-717-4066.
