PACF's executive director, Anne Allen, grew up in
Arkansas City, Kansas, and graduated from the University of Kansas.
She spent a
5th year in a post graduate program at UCLA for elementary education,
and in 2002 received a Masters Degree in reading from California State
University, San Bernardino.
She
met her husband, Doug, an attorney, while at UCLA. They lived in Upland, CA
until 2004 when they moved to Parsons.
They have four sons:
Nicholas, Peter, and twins, John and Alexander. Nick now lives in
Parsons, and is a grant writer and adjunct professor at Pitt State;
Peter is in Graduate School at MIT; and the twins are freshmen in
college.
Anne is active in
the First Presbyterian Church, Parsons Ladies Golf Association, PEO
Chapter JE, and has served on the Labette Red Cross board. Since
moving to Kansas, golf has become a passion along with playing
bridge. She is also a soccer mom and enjoys reading and travel.
Regarding the community foundation: "I am committed to the
mission of the foundation and am awed by the good it has already
accomplished, and its tremendous potential for the future of this
area."
